Principal Hurd has been the instructional leader of the Hamilton Street Campus of Franklin Middle School since 2016.

She has worked for FTPS since 2007.  Before beginning her tenure as Principal of HSC, she served as a teacher at MacAfee Road School, then as a Vice Principal at HSC and Acting Principal at Conerly Road School. 

She was attracted to the district, some nineteen years ago, because of its diversity and believes that HSC is truly reflective of the Franklin community at large.

This year we will renew our commitment to excellence in all that we set out to do and undertake. It is our continued mission to provide the most effective and engaging instruction daily, with the expectation that all our scholars will learn and succeed. 

For the last five years, we have posed this question, "what is your why?" It is our belief that by keeping our why at the forefront of all that we do and undertake, success and excellence will be inevitable.

Our "why" propelled us throughout the pandemic for the last two years. We are now asking you to further expound upon what drives you to maintain your why.

Our theme for the 2022-2023 school year is, “know what drives you.”
